The facelift is one of our most frequently requested procedures. Common lower face complaints include a sagging or droopy face, jowling, double chin, turkey gobbler and neck cords.
- Dr. Cortez has developed procedures to treat the lower face that results in a natural look that enables the patient to look 10 to 15 years younger. None of his patients have the “windswept” or “over-pulled” look.
- He frequently uses a pre-jowl implant to decrease the appearance of jowling.
- The major pull is on the SMAS layers of the face and neck, which also contributes to a more natural and longer lasting result.
- Incisions are carefully camouflaged in creases in front of and behind the ears. A great deal of time is spent on closing incisions so that when they heal, they are often times not even visible.
Surgery is performed in our accredited outpatient surgery center in Overland Park, KS and patients are normally back to work within nine to ten days. Anesthesia is twilight (totally pain free) and does not require general anesthesia. Patients have no memory of the procedure and avoid the dangers of general anesthesia and the post-operative fatigue it may create. Patients describe facelift surgery as a pain-free procedure.
